One sleep!!

.... And then we are FINALLY in our new house!!

I wasn't excited about having to pick brick for this house at first{it was required upon the builder code for the neighborhood} as we are more stone and/or hardy plank siding kind of people. However, I really love it in the end! We went with a unique neutral white washed brick and changed the garage and posts to make the house look more craftsman, my fave type. We're really pleased with how it looks. Thing I'm looking forward to the most? Spending time on that big front porch!! So come visit :)

The end of our misery apt transition living is here folks and I couldn't be more excited....

"Do you know what today is? ..... it's our anniversary, anniversary"

.......Poor Blair actually woke up to me singing this to him this morning.

Three years ago today I married my sweetiepie. I love thinking back to that wonderful day. All of our favorite people in the world in one place, just for us. So blessed! Even though it rained the second the ceremony started, it was the perfect day. I remember it like it was yesterday! We've moved three times, built two homes & have endured a lot of changes in our first quick three years as a married duo but there's no one I'd rather share those adventures with than B.

Quick walk down memory lane, because I'm still as obsessed with our wedding pictures as I was the first time I laid eyes on them. Hands down the #1 thing (in my opinion) to spend money on for your Big Day. It may have been drizzling and grey outside, but for B and I, it was warm and sunny!! I love you Puff-- here's to 100 more years!

We came, We saw, We Easter'd

What an awesome Easter weekend it was! We had alot of windshield time starting with our day trip Saturday to Lexington, KY { Keeneland } to see some horse racing. I love going back to Lexington, where I grew up, it's always a blast. My sister organized the trip and we joined her and her friends Nicole and Naz for a fun couples extravaganza. My husband is obsessed with horse racing & came quite organized with his paperwork of who he's betting on and an organized spreadsheet of each horses racing odds, etc. It was pretty hilarious and all worth it when we left up $150! Not a lot of money, but I also held his allowance {we are closing on a house in a week ya'll} but I'll take it! We decided to dress the part this time & had such a great time during a beautiful sunny and 75 Spring day!!

Our sweet Atticus turned 7 as well on Saturday, so we came home to love on him. I can't believe this big ol' sweetie is 7. Every year our furbabies get older I get a bit sad and more dreadful of the "Rainbow Bridge" that we never know when they'll cross over. I can't imagine our lives without their love. We brought him a burger & gave him a nice long brush  outside{his favorite} to cele! HAPPY BIRTHDAY ATTY MONSTER!! WE LOVE YOU YOU BIG OL LUG OF LOVE!

Saturday we drove to Shelby, to the church I grew up at to hear my Dad, Papaw and others preach and watch a beautiful baptism. The weather was beautiful again and the service was wonderful. We cooked out at my grandparents house with cousins and family to follow who we don't get to see as often as we'd like to; all in all it was a wonderful Easter weekend. I mean seriously, how cute are my grandparents? Their marriage motto: never stop having fun with each other. Clearly it's working after 60 years together. They got married when Mamaw was 17.

We are so very grateful for our God who died on the cross for the sake of our lives. Sharing this day with our family which have all been blessed by Him is so humbling. I think often how lucky I am that I was placed into this family of mine. I hope you also had a blessed, beautiful Easter weekend!

Weekend Recap!

Am I already recapping the weekend again? Slow. down. time!!! Actually don't slow down because we FINALLY close on our house in only 15 days. But who's counting? {updated pics coming soon}

This past weekend was all about Isaac (and when isn't it)!!? I may be biased but I think he is just the cutest, sweetest thing. I love when he wraps his arms around my neck and plants a big juicy one on me. I love to love on my little nephew man. And with a face like this? I meannnn.....

clearly excited when I told him we were hunting more Easter Eggs after church

Church weekend was near our house this weekend so my sister and her husband and my Dad spent the weekend our way. We went to a local high school in our hometown for a little Easter Egg Hunting and again on Sunday after church. He was obsessed with the Firetruck but not so much the Easterbunny. I don't blame him....college mascots would scare me let alone this bunny.

Help!

Coolest lil fireman around.

Isaac and Momma!

I may or may not buy this Easter Jacket of Isaac's from Von Maur for B for Derby weekend next weekend. It's too freaking cute. I think B could totally pull it off, no? ;)

Reese's for Auntie!

Weekends at the park and hanging with Isaac refuel me and fill me with so much love!!

Hope you all had a fantastic weekend also filled with love.

Birthday Weekend (s) recap!

My birthday weekend was awesome. Got to spend time with family & friends dining out my favorite restaurant here {Salar} and felt very loved to hear from those near and far who couldn't be there in person to celebrate. Extra bonus; my husband surprised me with a gorge emerald and diamond ring! Green is my fave color, making the emerald my favorite gem. Very special surprise. Some pics from Dad & my birthday weekend:

Amazing sugar free/gluten free cake my sis got for us. And it was actually GOOD! Really good!

Pops and I

the man has good taste! Beautiful surprise.

A little after dinner fun. 12a on the dot!

Sunday, on my actual birthday, I met my gf Erin for a beautiful hike with Casanova. It was just what my over served (woopsie) self needed!

My buddy; Casanova

blessed!

The hubs bday is the weekend after mine, and every year we end up catching a big basketball tourney out if state. This year we were able to make The Final Four. I will say it wouldn't be my first choice during "off season", but I really had a nice time. I was able to join him in some of the coaches conferences he attended & also was a part of a coaches wives brunch hosted by Athletes in Action. It was a breath of fresh air to have open forum with other wives who have been sharing this coaching/basketball industry with their families for many more years than I. We met up with my Austin bestie & her family to catch the Dallas Aquarium and a local park. My sweet Brayden is growing like a weed and is so incredibly kind. He has an old soul like his Auntie :)

This cutie pie!

the whole fam dam

We then met up with Ohio friends for the game & explored Dallas! I think it's safe to say B had a nice birthday as well.

O.H.I.O Baby!

Unfortunately I got food poisoning {hell on Earth} from wings at a sports bar our last night in Dallas which made for a TERRIBLE trip home. My worst fear is puking on an airplane (odd I know) and by the grace of God, on a flight where we were not permitted to get up due to the roller coaster ride in air, I made it. Very grateful to that. Upon arriving home, I slept for 15 straight hours! Meh. Hey, at least my body got a good cleanse after treating it with copious amounts of birthday fun, right? ;)

31 and 35 for B and I were a success!!! Glad to be 365 days or less until the next birthday ;)

Go Shorty!

....It's ya birthday. Well not yours, mine. Or maybe yours too? Anyways, I"m off celebrating. Just kidding, I'm currently finishing up my work day (by noon) to enjoy an afternoon at the spa before volunteering and dinner with the hubbs. My birthday is technically in 48 hours, but who DOESN'T celebrate their entire birthday weekend? duh.

31 random thoughts for the Big 3-1!!

31. I was 21 TEN years ago. Although I don't desire to be 21 again, 31 kind of freaks me out.

30. My 30th was my "Golden Birthday". I made a wish on this cake that will be the same wish for my 31st.

29. I'm very happy with exactly where this life has taken me so far. I can't complain a bit.

28. I went to a psychic when I was 17 at a fair with an ex boyfriend and she told me I'd get married at 28. She also told him he'd marry his ex girlfriend. She was right about both.

27. I'm SO THANKFUL I kept my 20's as 'me years'. I encourage all younger folk to follow the "20's are for you and 30's are for marriage/family". I believe that wholeheartedly.

26. I've had to cut some friends out of my life who weren't really good friends in the end. That doesn't mean that I don't miss them from time to time & that it still doesn't hurt. Sometimes I want to be the bigger person & fix things, but then I remember it takes two....

25. This is the year I met my husband.

24. The year I lived in Findlay {what single girl moves to Findlay by themselves you ask?}. But this was one of the best experiences. I really get to know myself. I still have very fond memories when I think back on this time in my life.

23. The year I moved to Texas to 'make it work' with my first love. Ha!! It's laughable now that I think about it. I'm glad I took the adventure, but seriously? So young, & timing is everything.

22. The year I got the best gift I've ever been given. My sweet fur-baby, Casanova!

21.  My 21st I celebrated at Ledo's and Hendocs on campus. My bf at the time told the bartender to start to make me fake shots (after I took like 4) because I had an exam the next morning & he was afraid I'd miss it. I was still carried home; after only 4 shots. The next morning I was bragging to everyone that I took like 12 and felt fine. HA! He let me brag for a week before telling me the truth.

20. Now that we're on the subject of college, I lived with some of the best gals this year. We all cheered together, lived together & somehow made it out alive and are still friends. A true miracle.

19. I don't have a 'favorite flower'. Is that weird? I like them all. Except red roses; too typical. Ok, so maybe my favorite are ones that are unique.

18. I absolutely LOVE volunteering at the NICU. I get to laser beam so much love to these nuggets in the short 3 hours I hold them every Friday. I look forward to it all week long.

17. I always think of Deanna Carter's "Strawberry Wine" song. God that album was good! "Seeeeeventennnnn. The GREEN on the vineeee" {dont play, you know you belted those parts too}

16. I still remember by 16th vividly!! My gf Jenni's family and I were on Spring Break {as most of my birthday's fell upon--awesome} and they made me a REAL margaritta!! O em gee! They probably didn't really, but I felt so cool drinking it thinking it was. Here's a pic from one of my birthday spring breaks-- think it was my 17th. Panama City baby!!

15. I was born on my Great Grandma's birthday and the day after my Dad's. My GG isn't with us any longer but I still miss her at our group cele every birthday and it's been over 10 years since she passed.

14. My hair has been platinum blonde to dark brown. I think the happy medium is my favorite color {and also hard to achieve}.

13. Ok. I'm starting to struggle here with these.

12.  I would have 0 memory if it weren't for photos. I can remember the smell of the room, perfume or cologne the person was wearing and exactly what we were up to if I'm my thought is prompted by a photo. I think that's why I love them & take so many of them. I have no recollection of things without a visual.

11. My besties mean the world to me. I cant imagine a life without my girlfriends.

10. When I was a little girl I wanted to be a 'grocery bagger'. High hopes! ....glad it worked out much better than that.

9. My idea of a perfect family looked like the mini's in our wedding party. I've always been open to wanting children of all races; but especially a little black boy. It doesn't get much cuter than Little D, our ring bearer. Black, white, Italian? Add a Asian fashionista & wrap them up in a big ol bow. K thanks God.

8. This list is about as random as my mind works. I don't focus on one topic for very long.

7. My favorite birthday cupcake is red velvet. But, I'm a sucker for anything brownie + ice cream. BJ's Pizooki's? Heaven in a dish.

6. My husbands birthday is the weekend after mine which makes for a great wrap up from March and lead into April!

5. What age is appropriate to start asking for Botox for your birthday?

4. If I could be anywhere for my birthday each year it would be like my wedding day; all of my favorite people in the same place.

3. My favorite birthday shot is a Lemon Drop!

2. Oh you're still reading this?

1. 31-- Lets do this!
